Arkansas Waterways Commission

Ouachita River

Provides a 9-foot deep channel to Camden, Arkansas, a distance of 117 miles upstream of the Louisiana state line. Cross Oil Refining and Marketing Inc. is a major user of the system. Located at Smackover, Cross Oil relies on the system to import crude oil from around the world and export finished products. Public ports are located at Camden and Crossett.
